Our mission is to accelerate the reduction in Europe’s reliance on fossil fuels, and we have already established a portfolio of onshore wind and solar projects. At the end of 2023 we finished construction of our first solar park and wind farm, which are now exporting power.
To have the biggest impact, we target markets that are underserved by capital and renewable expertise, by a team with a long history in successful development and construction of major renewable projects.
We are seeking a Tax Manager who will be responsible for providing tax advice and support to our business units, projects, and other stakeholders. You will play a key role in ensuring that all aspects of our business are compliant with tax laws and regulations, and that we minimize our tax liabilities in a responsible and ethical manner.
What you will do
• Provide tax advice and support to DTEK Renewables International BV and its subsidiaries, business units, projects, and other stakeholders on a wide range of tax issues, including corporate tax, indirect tax, customs, transfer pricing, and withholding taxes in countries of presence (Netherlands, Croatia, Italy, Poland and Romania)
• Support the development and implementation of tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities while ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations
• Control of CIT and VAT tax reporting in different regions (Netherlands, Croatia, Italy, Poland and Romania)
• Manage tax audits, negotiations with tax authorities, and other tax-related issues as needed
• Administration of the VAT refund process during the implementation of projects
• Manage tax due diligence with respect to the acquisition of development / investment projects
• Collaborate with Group Tax, tax consultants, other departments, including legal and procurement, to ensure a coordinated approach to tax matters
• Stay informed of tax laws and regulations and provide recommendations on changes that may impact the business
• Perform tax research and analysis, and prepare tax reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders
What you bring
• Master's degree in tax law, or a related field
• A professional tax qualification such as NOB membership, CPA, ACA, or equivalent
• At least 5-7 years of experience in a tax advisory role, with a focus on renewables or similar industries
• Strong knowledge of tax laws and regulations, including corporate tax, indirect tax, customs, transfer pricing, and withholding taxes
• Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving skills
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and solution-focused approach
