To have the biggest impact, we target markets that are underserved by capital and renewable expertise, by a team with a long history in successful development and construction of major renewable projects.
For our Romanian asset portfolio, we are looking for a knowledgeable and proactive H&S Coordinator to join our team in Bucharest. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with applicable health and safety regulations across our operational wind and solar assets, including Ruginoasa (60 MW), Glodeni (53 MW), Glodeni II (60 MW), and Vacaresti (126 MW).
You will oversee H&S performance, coordinate inspections and audits, deliver training, and support risk mitigation efforts in collaboration with service providers, contractors, and local authorities. Acting as the primary point of contact for H&S topics, you will ensure that all operations meet internal standards and legal requirements. This is a Bucharest-based role requiring regular office presence, with occasional travel to project sites.
What you bring
- 5-year experience in a similar position
- Higher vocational level electrical or civil engineer
- Affinity with the renewables energy industry
- HSE training (MVK or comparable [NEBOSH], HVK)
- GWO training Knowledge, skills, and experience
- Knowledge of European Safety Directives, G+ Guidelines, ISO9001, ISO14001 and ISO45001
- Good knowledge of the English language (verbally and in writing)
- Audit experience
- Excellent communication and skills
- Pro-active, with the ability to set priorities
- Social team player with hands-on attitude
What you will do
- Monitoring and implementation of the legislation and the regulatory changes in HSE area of the country.
- To ensure the solar and wind assets compliance to the country specific applicable HSE requirements like law no. 319/2006, EN 50110, Government Decision no. 1425/2006, Government Decision no. 300/2006, Law no. 307/2006, Law no. 481/2004, statutory inspections of winches, elevators and PPE, working in live electrical installation, work at high, etc.
- Registration and statutory examination of the high-risk and rescue equipment as per the applicable law (hoists, winches, elevators, high pressure equipment, voltage indicators, gloves, etc.).
- Preparing the EHS and ERP plans according to local legislation.
- Site audits and supervising the activity of electrical and civil works during operation and maintenance stages, examination of the work permit system, LOTO system, lifting plan verification and approval.
- Develop and maintain project tools (documents [deliverables like HSE plans and ERP’s], methods, strategies, training etc.) to improve our way of working safely and efficiently.
- Execution and facilitation of internal and external audits, recommendation on (corrective) actions, follow-up, and close-out.
- Coach and advise workers on-site on HSE matters.
- Actively challenge HSE risk mitigation measures on their effectiveness and implementation.
- Accompany / attend 3rd party audits and ensure actions are closed.
- Assure quality of safety surveys and assist with addressing findings such as non-conformities, deviations from procedures and improvement suggestion.
- Regularly liaise with managed projects to assure right safety level.
- Provide internally developed HSE training and keeping the training material up to date.
- Analyse to spot trends of incidents, audit findings or observation cards.
- Provide advice to superintendents and site managers on HSE matters.
- Conduct risk assessments (HIRA) and kick off meetings for projects.
- First point of contact regarding HSE matters for Engineering and Operations Department.
- Advise on quality of required HSE materials (such as PPE) together with purchasing department.
- Assist in developing HSE training policy, training matrix and training material.
- Make cost and resource planning estimations on proposed projects.
- Participate or lead incident investigations including reporting and close-outs.
- Execute inspections/audits at supplier/subcontractor premises, including project sites.
- Liaise with Project teams and attend all relevant meetings.
- Compile regular reports and KPI tracking.
- Assist with the preparation of management reviews
